What is the best vacation you ever had?
Just reflect on it for a moment.
For some, it might be a visit to a foreign country, a new city, a village, mountains, or simply a stay at the grandparent’s place.
Now, you must have thought about your travel, the location, the food, the people, the culture, and the food you ate. It is all these factors combined that make a vacation great. Remove even one and it makes the experience incomplete.
My question: Why don’t we look at a company’s product similarly?
For example, consider a company which sells online courses. What’s the product here?
Online courses, simple right?
But what about the communication emails, customer support, social media, client services, etc. Why aren’t these considered as a part of the product?
In my view, anything that encompasses any source of value for the customer is the company product.
Anything that customers experience from their interaction with a company should qualify as the company product.
Otherwise no matter what, the experience will always seem incomplete. Just this small shift in mindset can do wonders, not just for the customers but also for the people fueling any organization.
