Everything that is visible hides something that is invisible.

Metrics. Dashboards. SOPs. Decks.

All tools of visibility. Often your most trusted ally in the founder’s office. No doubt.

However, one thing you’ll learn pretty soon:

“Everything that is visible hides something that is invisible.”

Visibility always conceals something.

Visibility does not mean clarity; it can actually highlight what is missing.

Focus on the picture.

The forest is not what it seems.
Look closely.

What is whole becomes fragmented. The rider dissolves into the trunks, the horse disappears into the spaces between.

We see enough to believe, but never enough to know.
What you see in front of you: in your team, your startup, your self is never the full picture.

The visible is an arrangement of appearances. But between those arrangements lies the invisible.

And…. here is exactly where entropy thrives.

It is the invisible force that is waiting. Waiting to break apart your illusions of clarity.
The shadow of what you cannot see is already shaping the path ahead.

On that note, huge respect to Carl Jung 🙏

The way I see it, the Shadow represents psychological entropy.

The unseen self, the repressed impulses, the unspoken truths.

Both reveal that order is always incomplete, always fragmenting into mystery.

And so coming back to startups:

More often than not, you’ll mistake visibility for control.
Metrics, dashboards, SOPs: They give us the comfort of the seen.

But the invisible currents of resentments, passions, blind spots will undo or transform everything if ignored.

If you are a member of the Temple of Entropy, you know what to do.

Do not trust only what is visible. Seek also what the visible hides.

Only then can you ride steadily through the forest.
