This is a story about two friends. Bill and Jeff.
Both of them had set up huge businesses across India. They had their presence in all the major cities of the country. Now it was time to enter the small towns.
So they chose a place near their city and decided to travel there by car. As they were moving through the town, Jeff was looking outside the window. What he saw was houses filled with dirt, people with shabby clothes, and staring at them, perhaps because they were the only ones with a car in that town.
Jeff said to Bill, “Is this the right place to expand our business? Look at the people around and the surroundings. Everything looks so bad.”
Bill nodded in a quiet manner, and they continued on their journey.
Soon they reached the office. When they were done for the day, it was already quite late. So they rented a room nearby, to spend the night.
The next morning, while they were travelling back to the city, something was strange. Every house they came across, every backyard they saw, was as clean as it could be. People outside looked quite cheerful, and bid them goodbye with lovely smiles.
Both Bill and Jeff looked at each other and smiled.
It turned out, that before leaving, Bill had washed the car and removed the dirt off the windows…
Now, isn’t this something that happens with all of us in our lives? Whenever we come across a new person, new place or even a new experience, do we ever question our own vision before passing judgments?
Because vision creates sight; not the other way around.
‘What we see does not decide our vision. Our vision decides what we see.’
Contrary to popular belief, we see the world through our minds, not our eyes.
So the next time we come across something new, shouldn’t we ask ourselves,
” WHEN WAS THE LAST TIME, WE CLEANED OUR WINDOWS?”
