About

I’m Ronit. I have always been more explorer than specialist, happier wandering into unfamiliar territory than settling into known ground. I’ve tinkered with code, with small companies, with ideas about how societies govern themselves, and I once stepped off a well-marked path just to see where the unmarked ones led. Some detours went nowhere. Most taught me something.

The workbench

This site is my workbench. The essays are half-built things: ideas I’ve pulled apart, poked at and put back together, sometimes with parts left over. I publish them before they’re finished, because finished is a story we tell about things that have stopped changing.

Things I keep finding

That all order is on loan. Every system I’ve opened up, whether a team, a market or a belief, holds together only because someone keeps maintaining it. Stop, and it drifts.

That the best discoveries are at the edges, where two fields overlap and neither has drawn the map yet.

That a compass beats a map in new territory. Plans assume you know the ground. Explorers know a direction and adjust as they go.

That breaking something is often the fastest way to understand it.

How I navigate

I follow my gut first and work out the reasons later. Curiosity picks the direction; writing is how I check whether the trip was worth it.
